To protect the sensor while storage and shipment, the sensor provides an adhesive tape, which has to be removed before operation.
Note regarding the sensitivity (see below): The lumigen coating affects the sensitivity of the sensor in a quite complicated way. Due to this fact it makes no sense to discribe it with a single number in order to compare it to the uncoated version. Please contact us, if you should have questions regarding this topic. Our engineers will then help you to understand the effect of the coating for your application.
